Horrifying: Couple charged with first degree murder and neglect after their 4 month old baby’s rotting remains are found at their family home

In a truly horrifying story in the US a couple have been charged on the suspicion of first degree murder of their baby son whose rotting remains were found by authorities in their family home.

The pair accessed of the sickening crime Cheyanne Harris, 20, and Zachary Koehn, 28, have been remanded in custody until November 2nd after they were charged with child neglect and the murder of their baby son Sterling Daniel Koehn who was only born on May 1st this year .

According to reports in the US the young tot who was discovered by police authorities at the couple’s apartment at Hilltop Avenue in Alta Vista, Iowa, at approximately 1pm on August 30th, was that badly neglected he was found to have maggots in his nappy whilst hanging dead in his child swing from which he hadn’t been removed from in over a week.

The sickening detail of the nature of abuse the young baby suffered doesn’t end there however as a post mortem examination found that Sterling’s skin deterioration also showed that he hadn’t had a nappy change or a bath in sometime nor did he recieve regular meals as he was severely underweight for a child of that age weighing just 7lbs.

However both parents have since denied they neglected little Sterling as police statements revealed that the boy’s father Koehn, said his son was still alive that day as his girlfriend fed him at 9am that morning, but when she went to check on him just over two hours later she discovered him dead.

The parents story was later disproven after little Sterling’s autopsy report found that he was the victim of severe child abuse and that he was clearly dead for sometime.
