Gardaí in Cork have begun an investigation after a five-year-old child found what is believed to be heroin whilst playing on the street.
According to Virgin Media News, the investigation comes after the unidentified child found the substance in a housing estate in Knocknaheeny.
Although thankfully the child didn’t come into contact with the substance, it is reported that Gardai were alerted to the incident after the child’s parents opened two small wraps it was contained in.
Gardaí say they have been made aware of the incident and an investigation is currently ongoing but as of yet no arrests have been made.
