Police authorities in India have begun an investigation after two young boys were killed when they drank a bottle of sulphuric acid after they mistook it for a bottle of fruit juice.

According to local media reports the two boys named Aryan Singh, 9, and Sahil Sankar 8, tragically lost their lives after they drank the hazardous liquid which belonged to their father a goldsmith who used the substance to melt gold and metals.

Reports say the two boys unknowingly took a swig from the container at Sahil’s home during a party to celebrate his eight birthday.
