The ongoing issue of sexual assault on young girls and women in India, has sadly showed no signs of relenting as yet another girl was subjected to a sickening attack.
In what can only be described as a horrifying and terrifying ordeal, a young teenage girl was subjected to a brutal attack as a gang of men, most of whom are teenagers, ripped off her clothes before proceeding to attack her.
The shocking incident which occurred in broad daylight in Jehanabad, in Bihar state, has already led to a police investigation after footage of the brutal attack was shared online.
It is believed the disturbing footage was uploaded online by a young man who filmed the group laughing and cheering whilst the young girl was being attacked.
According to Indian state media NDTV, police officers investigating the incident say at least young men have been arrested in connection with the attack.
The state broadcaster also reports that officers are currently searching for two other men who are alleged to have been involved in the attack.
Police investigating the incident say they are currently providing consular assistance to the young girl and her family.
The sickening attack comes less than a month after India’s government passed new laws that will see those found guilty of rape and sexual assault on young girls receiving the death penalty.
