Horse industry in disarray as Gordon Elliott photo fallout continues with horse owners switching trainers and jockey apologising for riding dead horse

Jockey Rob James has apologised after a dispicable video of him emerged today showing the jockey appearing to ride a dead horse that appears to have died in a ditch.

The disgusting footage shows his friends roaring laughing as the jockey mounts the dead animal from behind.

Along side that, a number of high calibre horses have left the stables of Gordon Elliott after what has been described as a completely disturbing and disgraceful image of Elliott sitting atop a dead horse.

There has been widespread outrage at a despicable image that’s been widely shared on social media showing one of Ireland’s most famous horse trainers Gordon Elliott sitting on a dead horse.

Jockey Ruby Walsh has described the image as “indefensible” claiming he feels “embarrassed for the sport” of racing as a result.

BetFair have pulled their ties to Elliott who has apologised for the image after many people queried whether or not it was real.

It’s now being investigated by the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB).

The fallout of the photo could be detrimental to the sport as a whole, with many claiming that those working with horses treat them like dirt and this image would do little to sway that opinion.

Many people on social media are calling for Elliott to be banned from the sport.
