Hospitality representative bodies welcome NPHET advice to Government that they can lift restrictions

Hospitality representative bodies have expressed the hope that the sector can start to recover from losses caused by Covid restrictions as soon as they are lifted.

According to RTE, the Restaurants Association of Ireland and the Licensed Vintners Association have welcomed the news from Government that the restrictions are likely to be lifted.

LVA Chief Executive Donall O’Keeffe said that hospitality is ready and waiting to open our doors this weekend.

The Chief Executive of the Vintner’s Federation of Ireland said the government needs to go for the lifting of restrictions now, particularly since Northern Ireland is fully reopening over the next few days.

Now that NPHET has told Government they are allowed to go ahead and lift restrictions, it is hoped that the 8pm deadline will be removed, particularly since the hospitality sector has been badly damaged during the pandemic.
