Hot weather to continue until Friday as forecasters say temperatures could reach 30C later this week

Ireland’s summer spell looks set to continue next week as forecasters say the high temperatures we’ve experienced over the past few days will last until Friday.

In what is considered a rarity Ireland saw highs of 29C on Saturday and according to latest forecasts temperatures could go even higher in the middle of next week.

According to Met Eireann some places could experience highs of 30C on Wednesday as the warm weather front which came up from the Azores looks set to linger over the country.

The national forecaster also say temperatures are expected to exceed 25C in most places for the rest of the week and it will be largely dry throughout.
