HSE boss issues threat to public that cases “could explode once again”

The boss of the HSE Paul Reid has issued a stern warning to the public that covid cases could increase to an explosive level once again.

Paul Reid said that the baseline number is still way too high and said that the country is in a very delicate situation regardless of 100,000 vaccines being delivered to Ireland this week.

It’s understood that there’s logistical issues with delivery schedules of suppliers and trying to get them to GP surgeries, especially in rural GP areas.

Hospital admissions are down 13% since last week with Ireland’s 5 day moving rate continuing to fall. It would appear that all figures are moving in the right direction but many feel that the government are giving no optimism to the public.
