HSE Chief Paul Reid reveals 24.5% of the eligible population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine




The Chief Executive of the HSE Paul Reid has revealed that 24.5% of the eligible population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Speaking to RTE, Reid confirmed that 1.3 million doses of the vaccine has been administered to date.

Reid told Claire Byrne that 10% of the population is fully vaccinated and it is expected that 150,000 doses will be administered by the end week.

He went on to state that 95% of the over 70s will have received at least one dose of their vaccine by end of the week.

Meanwhile the HSE chief also confirmed that 26,000 people aged between 65 to 69 were vaccinated this week.

Reid urged those aged between 60 to 69 to register for the vaccine when they are given the opportunity to do so.
