The Chief Executive of the HSE Paul Reid has confirmed that Ireland has received its largest Covid-19 shipment to date.
It is understood that a total of 540,000 Covid-19 vaccines arrived into the country today.
In a tweet Reid said that large majority of the vaccines that arrived are those which were purchased from Romania.
Reid wrote: “Today we received our biggest weekly delivery of vaccines to this country of over 540,000 doses.”
“This was hugely boosted by the first tranche of a total of 700,000 Romanian reallocated vaccines.”
“It’s key that we get to the smaller percentages of people now unvaccinated.”
