HSE Chief Paul Reid says up to 290,000 people are expected to receive a Covid-19 vaccine next week




The Chief Executive of the HSE Paul Reid has revealed that up to 290,000 people are expected to receive a Covid-19 vaccine next week.

Speaking at a HSE Covid-19 briefing, Reid said the vaccination programme is progressing well and to date 3.1 million doses have been administered.

Reid said that a total of 2.2 million first doses have been administered, whilst 1.1 million second doses have also been administered.

The HSE Chief said that it is expected that a total between 250,000 and 270,000 vaccine doses will be administered this week.

He added that in the region of 270,000 to 290,000 doses will be administered next week.
