HSE Chief Paul Reid urges the public to stay at home as he warns Ireland is on a dangerous road

The Chief Executive Paul Reid has urged the public to stay at home as he has warned that the country is on a dangerous road.

Speaking on RTE’s The Late Late Show, Reid pleaded with the Irish people to stay at home in order to get the spread of the virus under control.

Reid said that the rate of the virus is at its worst case scenario and it is nothing like we ever seen before.

He told host Ryan Tubridy that the spread of the virus had drastically increased following the events over Christmas with so many people meeting and mixing.

He added that the HSE and the Government have made decisions and taken actions and we now urge the public to do the same and work with us over the coming days and weeks ahead.
