The National Clinical Advisor of the HSE Dr Colm Henry has denied that a large quantity of flu vaccines have gone missing.
Speaking to RTE’s Morning Ireland programme, Henry refuted claims that some 600,000 vaccines had gone missing.
Henry told the programme that no vaccines were missing but instead there had been a large uptake of the vaccine with €1.3m doses already administered so far this year.
Although Henry did admit that 50,000 doses of the vaccine were held back, he said there was an overall 20% increase of people being given the vaccine.
