The HSE is said to be concerned, in particular for homosexual people, after Health officials in Britain identify a new strain of monkeypox.
It is understood that the strain was detected in an individual who had travelled to West Africa in recent days. This person is now in the High Consequence Infectious Disease (HCID) unit at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
According to authorities, the risk for the general population is ‘very low.’
