The Health Service Executive (HSE) has confirmed that there are more than 100,000 children on waiting lists across Ireland.
According to official figures, 106,000 children are currently waiting for treatment or assessment.
The waiting lists are not expected to be cleared for the next two decades at least, when children who survive will have become adults, but HSE bosses are not likely to miss any of their monthly wages.
