In what can only be described as absolutely disagraceful, the HSE has many questions to answer after a patient’s body was handed over to the wrong family.
The HSE have launched an internal investigation after the body of a recently deceased Covid-19 patient was handed over to the wrong family.
The incident happened at the Regional Hospital Mullingar in recent days.
The mix-up reportedly happened at the hospital’s mortuary, when the wrong body was passed to an undertaker.
It is understood that the mistake was realized before the funeral took place.
