HSE review of more than 1,500 patient files has found dozens of patients were prescribed dangerously excessive amounts of medication – Some patient files “missing” others will be filing lawsuits

An internal review into the files of more than 1,500 patients by the HSE has revealed that sub-standard healthcare was provided by the HSE.

The internal HSE review led to dozens of young adults being prescribed dangerously excessive amounts of medication – and it is expected to lead to at least 60 lawsuits reports the Sun. Patients claim that records relating to many patients have gone missing – including appointment records and other key information.

The patients involved in the review are “young adults” under the care at South Kerry Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

The review is ongoing and is being led by Dr Seán Maskey, a consultant specialising in child and adolescent mental health at Maudsley Hospital in London, alongside senior nurse managers, advanced nurse practitioner and administration staff.
