The HSE say they expect that results from testing for the Coronavirus will take 3 to 4 days.
The news comes after the HSE have confirmed that a total of 19 testing centres have been setup across the country.
It is expected that a further 15 centres will be set up in the coming days to deal with the backlog.
The HSE say those who need testing must be referred by their GP.
