The HSE have warned that hospital cases are continuing to rise and it is having a significant impact on the health service.
Reid’s comments come as the Department of Health confirmed 39,561 new Covid-19 cases over the past three days.
In an area the Department of Health confirmed that there are 1,625 people in hospital with the virus and 54 of those are currently in ICU.
The HSE Chief warned that services will continue to be impacted as there is no downward trend as cases continue to rise.
