The Health Service Executive (HSE) will reportedly ask consultants to work weekends in a desperate effort to alleviate obscene overcrowding across Irish hospitals.
Working on weekends is not on a consultant contract though, so no one will likely heed the call.
Taoiseach appointee Leo Varadkar said today that the massive numbers of people suffering on trolleys is ‘not acceptable’, but stopped short of actually doing anything about it.
