The HSE’s Chief Clinical Officer Dr Colm Henry has said that he believes that the Johnson & Johnson vaccine should be used as it is safe and effective.
Speaking to Newstalk, Dr Henry said that the vaccine has been approved by US FDA and the EMA and therefore he believes that it should be used.
Dr Henry said that the vaccine which is being reviewed by NIAC would be a useful vaccine as it is a one shot vaccine.
He added that it would be particularly useful in mass vaccination centres as it is easy to store.
Dr Henry’s comments come as it is expected that the vaccine could be used for people who are currently homeless.
