The human remains found inside a submerged car just off a Cork pier have been identified as those of a man who went missing 17 years ago.
Last month, a team of rescue workers stumbled upon a submerged vehicle during a training exercise. Garda divers were called, and the skeletal remains of Barry Coughlan, who went missing in 2004, were found inside.
A funeral service will be held in the near future.
