A court in Glasgow has jailed four men for a total of 36 years for an extensive human trafficking operation in which they brought women from Slovakia and other countries to Scotland to be sexually exploited, the Scotsman reports.
Following a High Court trial Vojtech Gombar (61) Anil Wagle (37) Jana Sandorova (28) and Ratislav Adam (31) were found guilty of charges which involved selling eight women for prostitution and slavery the Scotsman reported.
The gang of human traffickers, who were all related, are all originally from Slovakia.
The court heard how the gang would traffic women to Glasgow before seizing their identification and then forcing them into unpaid work and prostitution. The women would also be forced into sham marriages.
Police managed to nab the gang following a five-year international operation code-named Operation Synapsis.
