In what can only be described as utterly tragic, mother-of-three Ruth Maguire has sadly been laid to rest today in Belfast.

Ruth went missing after a hen night in Carlingford, County Louth last Saturday evening.

Emergency services worked endlessly to find her and eventually discovered her body in shallow water in Carlingford.

The partner of Ruth Maguire paid tribute to Ruth saying she was his ‘soul mate.’

Mr Griffin also thanked emergency services for their help and the public for their support in an emotional post on social media.

In a heartfelt post on Facebook, Ruth’s partner James Griffin, said the following:  “I would like to say a big thank you to Kilkeel coastguards, the emergency services, Garda and the local people from Carlingford for everything they have done to find Ruth.

“I would also like to say thank you for all the kind messages I’m getting regarding Ruth’s passing.”

“Ruth will be missed more than she will ever know by myself and our three children and families.

“Ruth wasn’t just my partner, she was my soul mate.”

Ruth was due to marry her partner in August but was today laid to rest at St Vincent de Paul Church in Belfast in her wedding dress.

RIP
