In an act of incredible bravery and compassion, the brother of a man who died when he was shot by a policewoman has spoken in court about how he forgives the woman who killed him. He even told her he wished only good things for her.

According to CNN News, policewoman Amber Guyger was convicted of murdering Botham Jean. She received a sentence of 10 years in prison.

In an incredible act of compassion and kindness, Botham’s 18-year-old brother Brandt Jean took the stand and told Guygen that he forgave her for the actions that led to the death of his brother. He even went further, telling her that he wished only good things for her:

“I personally want the best for you and I wasn’t going to say this in front of everyone and my family and everyone but I don’t even want you to go to jail I want the best for you because that’s exactly what Botham would want you to do and the best would be give your life to Christ.”

He then told her “I love you as a person and I don’t wish anything bad on you.”

In an act that astounded everyone in court, he asked the judge for permission to hug Guygen and when this was granted, he walked across the courtroom and embraced the policewoman before she was led away to start her sentence.

Many people present in the court cried openly as they watched Brandt’s actions. His kindness and bravery are being hailed as something truly incredible which will most likely never be seen again.
