“I had no firearm” – Man suspected of shooting Garda Colm Horkan charged and remanded in custody




The man who was arrested in relation to shooting of Detective Garda Colm Horkan has been charged and appeared in court in Castlerea on Friday night.

43-yr-old Stephen Silver appeared before a special sitting of Castlerea District Court on Friday evening that started shortly after 10:30pm.

According to Shannonside, the man told the court “I had no firearm”.

He was charged with the Garda’s murder and is remanded in custody for one week.
