Iarnrod Eireann has launched a recruitment drive to hire up to 150 new staff.
It is understood that up to 80 roles will be for train drivers.
The jobs will be based at different locations including Dublin, Cork, Drogheda, Dundalk, Limerick, Galway, Mallow, Portlaoise, Sligo, and Waterford.
