Galway sisters Isabel and Ailbhe Keane had a memorable interview on last night’s Late Late Show when they told of how they’ve created a company that sells wheelchair wheel covers to 30 countries around the world.
That’s some achievement for the two young ladies aged 20 & 24 who are both full time students.
Isabel ‘owns’ her wheelchair use by telling people why she’s in the chair and indeed likes the idea of other wheelchair users having the same attitude and just throwing the elephant in the room out the window and embracing her use of it rather than otherwise.
Her sister Ailbhe came up with ‘IzzyWheels’ – the idea of wheelchair covers that as fashionable and reflect the personality of the user. A great concept and one that has taken off around the world.
