
‘I’ll be around for a long time,’ Enda Kenny proclaimed, and the words echoed long into the night. In other words, he is going nowhere, and appears to be dug in right under the skin of Ireland like an Alabama tick.
Despite earlier rumours that he might be stepping down before the next election, Mr. Kenny confirmed that he is in fact intent on staying on, stating that “We’ve got a challenging agenda in circumstances where we live in a fragile world.”
He added that Ireland is in dire need of “clear heads and steady hands on the tiller”.
