According to the HSE, the increase in flu cases is at the upper end of what it had anticipated, and more than 700 patients are already in hospitals, reports RTE.
The HSE expected and planned for the spike in instances, according to a spokeswoman. Hospitals are under more stress during the post-Christmas season since 900 individuals are now ill with the flu.
They say that they want people to get the flu jab and the covid jab immediately. They want people to get a doctor appointment immediately.
Meanwhile, many, many people say that they’re going to take neither of the jabs.
