I’m nearly there! Donnelly claims he’s halfway through fixing Ireland’s health service

Stephen Donnelly declared that he is “halfway through” restructuring the healthcare industry and that, should Fianna Fáil win the election, he would like to return to the cabinet.

Mr. Donnelly, who unveiled his party’s health policy manifesto, claimed to have been putting in a lot of effort with medical professionals to “turn probably the biggest oil tanker in our country”—health.

He added: “I think it is the most important one and it is turning – and I think it’s going to require relentless focus now in the coming years to get that done.”

Faster patient access is Fianna Fáil’s top objective, according to Mr. Donnelly.

He claimed that the party had updated care delivery, cut expenses, revolutionised women’s healthcare, and cut hospital wait times in half.

“We’re now about halfway along the journey of what’s required. Waiting times still need to fall further. Costs need to be cut further. New services need to be rolled out. I’ve led the development of a new culture of productivity and value for money and we need to embed this new approach, and we need to support it with modern facilities and e-health,” reports Breaking News.

He cautioned that long-term, significant improvements were needed to address health issues rather than band-aid solutions.

“It’s not just about more of everything. It’s a painstaking, detailed operational challenge,” reports Breaking News.
