The national forecaster has issued Status Yellow warnings for 14 counties as dire weather conditions approach.
The warnings cover counties Mayo, Sligo, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Galway, Clare, and Kerry.
Most of Ireland’s western seaboard will be hit with very heavy rain and strong winds during late Saturday and into Sunday.
