Indian boy, 7, complaining of jaw pain has a total of 526 teeth removed in what doctors have described as a unique case

A 7-year-old Indian boy has had a total of 526 teeth removed by surgeons after complaining of jaw pain.

In what has been described as a rare case the young boy was found to be suffering from compound composite ondontome.

According to doctors at Saveetha Dental College and Hospital in Chennai, India, the young boy who is now fully recovered was found to have a bag like mass in his lower right jaw that caused him considerable pain and swelling.

Although the boy’s case was initially reviewed when he was three, he was left untreated until the age of seven when his parentd feared he may have cancer.

Upon removing the mass which weighed almost half a pound, surgeons uncovered that it contained a 526 tooth like fragments that ranged from 1mm to 15mm in size.

Following the case doctors have said that the boys condition is extremely rare and the discovery is considered to be the first of its kind.
