Injunction granted against protesters blocking site of migrant accommodation in Kildare

A firm constructing emergency housing facilities in Co Kildare for hundreds of Ukrainian migrants has been given a temporary High Court order, preventing demonstrators from barring the site’s doors, reports Breaking News.

Total Experience Limited, doing business as Pastures New Accommodation, which is building facilities in Newhall, Naas, Co Kildare for families escaping the crisis in Ukraine, has filed the lawsuit.

The company alleges that individuals who oppose the State’s housing of displaced persons are impeding its operations by setting up a round-the-clock “blockade” of the site’s major gates, reports Breaking News.

Based on techniques including creating “a human shield” and parking automobiles in front of the property’s gates, the corporation alleges that up to 50 protestors have been stopping persons and vehicles from entering or leaving the site in recent days.

It asserts that these claimed actions amount to an undue interference with the company’s operations and a nuisance.

It further claims that the demonstrators have no right to ban the website, reports Breaking News.
