A fisherman is currently recovering in hospital this morning after he was rescued from a trawler off the south coast on Sunday.
The man who suffered crush injuries to his hand was rescued by the Irish Coast Guard after he got into difficulties 20km south of Mizen Head at approximately 4.30pm yesterday afternoon.
Reports say the injured man was treated by the helicopter paramedics at the scene before he was transferred to Cork University Hospital for further treatment.
