As rockets are fired over Tel Aviv several times a day, a steady stream of refugees fills the city’s hotels, reports RTE.

They told us they fled greater danger in Israeli towns and villages near Gaza.

The death toll in Gaza is mounting and chaos reigns as the countdown to the now inevitable Israeli invasion.

Israel wants to fight its final war against the Hamas militant group to the bitter end, regardless of international condemnation.

As Hamas fighters shot people and set fire to homes, a mothers’ WhatsApp group sent desperate messages to each other, at the Kibbutz.

The BBC reported that one message read: “We have a terrorist on the stairs, Call someone.” Help didn’t arrive for hours, reports RTE.

Israel’s determination not only to avenge what happened but to ensure it never happens again, is driving the government’s dire rhetoric.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address last night that Hamas will be destroyed no matter how long it takes.

He declared: “This is just the beginning… our enemies have only begun paying the price and I will not say more. This is just the beginning,” reports RTE.

The Jerusalem Post reports that the Israeli armed forces will be strengthened by an astonishing 360,000 reservists.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said evacuating 1 million people through war zones would be extremely dangerous, if not impossible.

The Israel Defense Forces said today that Gaza City is home to most of Hamas’ commanders and should therefore be occupied, reports RTE.

Gaza health authorities say 1,900 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in the past week.

The death toll will undoubtedly rise as the ground offensive enters Gaza in the next few hours.
