There has been international condemnation from the sporting world after video footage of the Dublin derby between Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians went viral on social media.

A row broke out between supporters of both sides at the game at Dollymount Park last night. The game kicked off at 7:45pm and the rows, excuse the pun, literally kicked off shortly afterwards.

Gardai supported security personnel and even heavily armed gardai were called in to try and stop the violence.
The match finished at 4-0 to Shamrock Rovers, but the violent scenes are what people are talking about.

Soccer pundits in the UK said online:
“Those scenes from Dublin last night were among the worst we’ve seen in the game since the Firms used to run riot in the 1980s”.
