
An English tourist who was left in a critical state after an alleged assault in Dublin city centre has died, according to gardaí.
The incident occurred in the Temple Bar Square area of the city at around 12.30am on Thursday, August 21st, reports Breaking News.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was initially taken to Beaumont Hospital in critical condition before later being transferred to the UK.
In a statement on Tuesday, gardaí said: “The man (40s) injured following a serious assault in Temple Bar on the 21st of August 2025 passed away in the UK on Saturday the 25th October 2025, reports Breaking News.
“As this matter is now before the courts this office will not be providing further information,” reports Breaking News.
A man in his 20s has since appeared before the courts charged in connection with the assault, reports Breaking News.
