Investigation into IBRC’s handling of Anglo loans stalled due to “legal issues”

The murky depths in which the Anglo phantom swims around have become a little dirtier today with the revelation that the commission in charge of investigating the IBRC-Anglo love affair cannot proceed for now due to “legal issues.”

The chair of the commission has reportedly received a letter from Judge Brian Cregan stating that no investigation can continue into “any of the relevant write-off transactions” at the centre of the inquiry.

Issues surrounding IBRC’s handling of Anglo-Irish Bank’s loans arose after some controversy emerged over the sale of SiteServ to a company owned by the ubiquitous businessman Denis O’Brien.

A detailed report into said “legal issues” is expected in the near future.
