An investigation is underway following the death of a 74-year-old woman at University Hospital Galway last month.
According to The Galway City Tribune, the investigation which is being led by Saolta University Healthcare Group comes after a complaint was made by the deceased’s family.
The Galway City Tribune, reports that the elderly woman died after sustaining a hip injury following an alleged altercation with another patient at the hospital’s A&E Department.
It is reported that the woman sadly passed away a number days after the incident.
It is alleged that the woman was knocked to the floor from her trolley following an encounter with a fellow patient.
Although Saolta University Healthcare Group confirmed an investigation is underway, they have stated that they will not release any further details about the case at this present time.
