Gardaí in Co Tipperary have launched an investigation after a man in his 50s has ended up in critical condition in hospital after a Soapbox Derby in Tipperary.
The man, named Donie Walsh, who is in his 50’s, was badly injured when one of the carts lost control and struck him.
Mr Walsh a stewart was quickly taken to Limerick University Hospital where he is understood to in intensive care and is being treated for serious head injuries.
The HSA and the Gardaí have said they are carrying out separate investigations, whilst the local council they are conducting an internal investigation.
