An investigation is underway after a building collapsed in Cork this morning leaving one man dead and five others injured.
It’s understood that the incident happened at a premises on Ashe Street shortly after 8am on Saturday morning.
It’s believed that the chimney section in the centre of the building collapsed inwards, trapping a man under the rubble. His body remained at the scene for some time.
The deceased man is said to have been in his 60s and was a local in the area. The injuries of the other men are said to be serious and they are currently being treated in hospital.
