Authorities in New York have launched an investigation after the body of a baby was found on board an American Airlines flight on Tuesday.
According to reports in the US, the body of the baby was discovered inside a toilet by cleaning staff who attended to the plane a number of hours after it arrived at LaGuardia Airport.
It is believed the cleaning found the baby inside the toilet at approximately 7am on Tuesday morning.
The flight which arrived at approximately 12:30am is understood to have travelled from Charlotte, North Carolina on Monday night.
In a statement released on Tuesday, American Airlines confirmed that they are currently assisting police in their investigations.
