Investigation underway after two children are approached by a man at a busy shopping centre




Police in East Belfast gave launched an investigation after two children were approached by a man outside a PoundLand store in a busy shopping centre yesterday afternoon.

The PSNI say the incident was reported to them after the children bravely walked away from the man “who approached them outside the front entrance to Poundland in Connswater shopping centre”.

According to Belfast Live the individual approached the two children asking had they seen a million pound note.

The man then allegedly asked the children that if they wanted to see one to come with him.

However the brave children declined the man’s advances and got to a safe place.

A police spokesperson has commended them for their quick thinking during the difficult situation.

They also said: “If there are any similar incidents please report these immediately. If there is any information in relation to this incident please contact police on 101 quoting reference 521 13/05/2017”
