Ireland looks set to become the first country in Europe to ban microbead products.
In a move that will tackle environmental damage, Microbeads Prohibition Bill, will prohibit the sale of shower gels, scrubs and household cleaners containing the small plastic beads.
The ban comes as research has revealed the damages such products has on the environment.
It is thought that the beads in such products can cause water pollution as well as cause harm to marine life.
