Ireland is still a Catholic country with the ‘Hail Mary’ voted most popular prayer in the country from ploughing championships poll




At this year’s ploughing championships, there was a poll held to see which prayer was the most popular in Ireland.

A large number of people voted in the narrowed-down list and the following is the results.

The Hail Mary got 61% of the vote by attendees, while the Guardian Angel Prayer received 39%.

Soeaking to CatholicBishops.ie, Bishop Denis Nulty said: “Our visitors always appreciate gifts of blessed salt and wristbands, and our various wall displays. Despite so much activity at our stand, many people value a little quiet time too, in prayer.”

Bishop Nulty said that he was delighted and completely overwhelmed by the response to the poll.
