Ireland reportedly set to buy 1m Covid-19 vaccines from Romania




The Irish Government is reportedly in talks with the Romanian Government over the prospect of purchasing 1 million Covid-19 vaccines.

According to RTE News, Government officials are in discussions over the prospect of buying 1 million Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

Although no deal is officially done, officials from the Irish Embassy have met Romanian Government in Bucharest.

It is believed that if a deal were to be secured Ireland would receive 700,000 Pfizer vaccines and 300,000 Moderna vaccines.

The discussion reportedly come as Romanian has one of the lowest up take of the vaccine within the European Union.
