Ireland set to be buried in snow over the next 24 hours




The country is set to be buried under a thick blanket of snow over the next 24 hours, as the weather forecast worsens.

Citizens are advised to stay indoors, as temperatures are set to plunge to -5C, and even -8C in certain areas.

An Orange Weather Warning remains in place for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, and Meath.

The snow is expected to accumulate in many areas overnight, with further flurries expected tomorrow, Sunday.

It will remain very cold, with daytime temperatures struggling to rise past 5C.
