Long-range weather projections indicate that later this month, Ireland may experience temperatures as high as 23C. It occurs after many days of lower temperatures and erratic weather across the nation, reports The Mirror.
June’s weather is predicted to be a bit of a rollercoaster, alternating between dry and bright spells and frigid and dismal spells.
Though temperatures may be “possibly a bit warmer than normal” at times, Met Eireann has dashed dreams of a heatwave this month, stating that readings will generally be closer to normal, reports The Mirror.
Five days in a row with temperatures above normal are commonly used to characterise heatwaves, although the national forecaster previously informed the Irish Mirror: “That is a working definition used by some other met offices, but the Met Eireann definition of a heatwave is five consecutive days of temperatures above 25C,” reports The Mirror.
