With significant changes in temperature and a significant return of rain in the upcoming days, it appears like summer is officially coming to an end.
After a really lovely Saturday for much of the nation, temperatures might reach 20C on Sunday. However, things are expected to become worse early next week.
The country will experience a noticeable drop in temperature starting on Monday. Prolonged rain may occasionally turn into hail, and thunder is also a possibility.
Speaking of today, Sunday September 8, a Met Eireann spokesperson said: “Today will be cooler, cloudier and breezier with some scattered light showers and patches of mist and fog. Some bright or sunny intervals developing at times too. Highest temperatures of 14 to 19 or 20 degrees, in moderate to fresh and gusty northwest winds, mildest across southeast Leinster. A mix of cloud and clear spells tonight with just a few well scattered showers. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in moderate west to northwest breezes,” reports The Mirror.
